1. “Now I’m That Bitch” -- Livvi Franc [6-19-09]. BARBADOS. Feisty summer mega hit debut from 20-yr.-old R&B singer out of Barbados who claims B.I.T.C.H. = Being In Total Control of Herself.” You go, girl!

2. “Imma Zoe” – Black DaDa [7-31-08]. HAITI. A stompin’ big hip-hop groover—shoutin’ out to his island -- from Haitian- American rapper out of Ft. Lauderdale.

3. “Honey Bee” – Zee Avi [5-19-09]. MALAYSIA. Only 22 when she recorded her first CD – she was quickly snapped up by Jack Johnson’s new recording label -- this singer-songwriter and guitarist from Malaysia uses her sweet voice to sing old fashioned-sounding folk-pop.

4. “Excuse Me” – Da’Zoo [5-29-09]. PUERTO RICO. Part English/part Spanish, slick pop dance track from duet out of Puerto Rico.

5. “Revolucion” – Wisin & Yandel [5-26-09]. PUERTO RICO. The lead track on latest album from reggaeton duo mixes hip-hop with melodic Spanish lyrics.

6. “Manos Al Aire” – Nelly Furtado [6-30-09]. CANADA. The new, alt-rock-sounding (and less R&B) lead single from her forthcoming all Spanish language album.

7. “I Like It Loud” – Cassie Davis (un-released in U.S.). AUSTRALIA. The scoring gold single from up-and-coming rockerfrom down under leads to a debut album to be released in August.

8. “Grains de Beaute” –CeU [7-7-09]. BRAZIL. A slow,luxurious, lounge song off second album from lovely, young Brazilian siren.

9. “Brothers” – Smashproof (yet to be released in US). NEW ZEALAND. Funky R&B single layering female vocals with hip-hop from debut album which refers to a recent controversial case in which a business man stabbed a teenage grafitti “tagger” to death.

10. “Slow Jam” -- Vieux Farka Toure [5-26-09] MALI. Enchanting contemporary dub reggae from distinctive Malian guitarist and rising West African star.

11. “Feels Like Saving the World” – Outlandish [unreleased in US]. DENMARK. With a fourth album under their belt, Denmark hip-hop group blends a rock influence into this track from latest album.

12. “So Fine” – Sean Paul (5-26-09). JAMAICA. Latest hit from Jamaican dancehall superstar features big, danceable beats and Paul’s signature vocals.

13. “Drifting” – Zap Mama [5-26-09]. AFRICA. Congolese founder of Zap Mama, Marie Daulne flew from her home in Belgium and spent some time in Brazil and came up with her new album from which this is the big single, an easy groover in duet with G. Love.

14. “You’re Goin’ Down” – Sick Puppies [5-19-09]. AUSTRALIA. Alternative rockers from Australia lay in on hard in this big sounding, riffing track.

15. “Amor Cronico” – Cucu Diamantes [3-17-09]. CUBA. A saucy, sexy Spanish groove from fascinating lead singer-songwriter of Yerba Buena who is Spanish-African-Chinese.

16. “No Matter What” – Heavy D [9-30-08]. JAMAICA. Hip-hop’s original heavy-boy lover from New York via Jamaica churns out a lovely reggae-influenced R&B track.

17. “Beggin’” – Madcon [1-13-09]. NORWAY. A massive hit in Europe with retro soul groove presented by unlikely Norwegian duo.

18. “Life is Good” – DJ Deckstream feat. Mos Def [MySpace] JAPAN. – A positive message from Japan’s infamous DJ featuring easy duet hip-hop harmonies on top of melancholy jazz piano.

19. “When I Grow Up” – Fever Ray [3-31-09]. SWEDEN. An astonishing new experimental solo project debut by young Swedish artist filled with icy electronica atmospheres.

20. “If I Know You” -- The Presets [3-23-09]. AUSTRALIA . Club dance track that mixes disco with electronica from avant garde Aussie duo.

21. “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked” – Ida Maria [4-14-09]. NORWAY. Explosive, cheeky, punky track from young break-out rocker from Norway.

22. “Virtual Diva” – Don Omar [4-28-09]. PUERTO RICO. On this cross-over smash hit, the king of Urban Latino radio does it all, combining reggaeton, dance, hip hop and pop.

25. “Fuga (Cha Cha Cha)” – Tiempo Libre [5-5-09]. CUBA. The entire album – called Bach in Havana – is comprised of songs composed by Sebastian Bach and re-imagined from a Latin Jazz perspective.

26. “Jailer” -- Asa [1-27-09]. NIGERIA. A smooth and modern fusion of R&B, soul and African jazz.

27. “ABC’s” – K’naan [1-27-09]. SOMALIA. Punchy and aware, this hip-hop track by rising Somalia-born star is filled with old school backbeat -- raps traded with Chubb Rock -- and a big back-up chorus.

28. “Sanctuary” – Gabriella Cilmi [1-27-09]. AUSTRALIA. 17-year old siren from Australia takes up a bluesy note in this appealing single track.

29. “Black Velvet” – Ferry Corsten [1-27-09]. NETHERLANDS. One of the founding fathers of Dutch trance launches this clubby melodramatic electro-dance track.

30. “Those Girls” – Kinky [2-24-09]. MEXICO. A slickly produced 80’s-new-wave-sounding track from hipsters out of Monterrey, Mexico.

31. “Sabali” -- Amadou and Miriam [3-24-09]. MALI. A musical husband and wife duo from Mali offer their distinct(French) vocals against a synthed bakcground.

32. “I’ll Eat You Up” – BoA [3-17-09]. SOUTH KOREA. Asian teen- phenom churns out a super-sized, American-sounding pop track on this lead single from her latest album.

33. “Serious Japanese” -- Teriyaki Boyz [late-spring release in U.S.). JAPAN. Hip-hop sound from Japanese rap supergroup combines familiar with exotic.

34. “You Say Yes, I Say Yes” – VETO [unreleased in US]. DENMARK . Clubby, Cure-like dance track from Danish quintet who are widely praised in their home country.

35. “Wake Up – It’s Africa Calling” – Youssou N’Dour [2-11-09]. SENEGAL. A sweeping, smooth remix with big percussion, horns and synthy sounds from the OPEN REMIX, a consciousness-raising track regarding the plights of Africa, benefitting IntraHealth.

36. “Jai Ho” – Feauturing Sukhvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah and Mahalaxmi from MUSIC FROM the MOTION PICTURE SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE [11-24-08]. INDIA. A throbbing and soaring and inspirational electro-combo of sounds and voices overseen by A.R. Rahman, the Indian film composer who wrote 11 of the 13 tracks on this soundtrack (including this one).

37. “Walking on a Dream” – Empire of the Sun [2-16-09]. AUSTRALIA. Aussie duo pumps out an upbeat electro-charged pop dance tune.

38. “Conchaperla” – Novalima [1-13-09]. PERU. Showcasing their Afro-Peruvian groove, this quartet rings in soul and groove on this lead track from their most recent album.

39. “Beijo De Saudade” – Mariza [1-27-09]. MOZAMBIQUE/PORTUGAL. A duet featuring the sultry alto, empress of old school fado, born in Mozambique and raised in Lisbon, which is often considered the birthplace of dado.

40. “Tuve un sueno” – R.K.M. & Ken-Y [9-9-08]. PUERTO RICO. A reggaetón hit from hip-hop duo out of Puerto Rico.

41. “The Show” – Lenka [9-9-08]. AUSTRALIA. Sweet, whimsical, crème pouf-of-an-indie female vocalist.
